Languages: Instructors in Intensive English Program (full and part-time)
The Department of Languages is seeking to hire instructors with an emphasis in the Intensive English Program (English as a Second Language) beginning in the Spring 2022 semester. The positions may be full- or part-time appointments. The positions are initially for a one semester appointment but in anticipation of continuing through 2022-23, contingent on program need and satisfactory performance review.
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters in relevant discipline such as TESOL or applied linguistics. Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills. Native or native-like English language proficiency. Advanced working-knowledge of MS Office software. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching IEP at the collegiate level; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
DUTIES: A full-time load prepares and teaches the equivalent of 15 credits each semester of lower- and upper-division courses, as assigned. Attend weekly staff meetings. Maintain curricular documents, files, and materials for assigned courses. Assist in administration of pre-, mid-, and end-of-semester exams
THE UNIT: The department of Languages consists of 17 faculty and 12 academic staff members.
