Steamfitter

A full-time university staff position is available in Facilities.   This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period.  The expected hourly hiring salary range is $40.40-$41.69

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Completion of an apprenticeship by Department of Workforce Development or possession of a Journey level Steamfitter Certification
  • Training or experience with tools, equipment, materials, and practices of the steam fitting trade
  • Steam fitting experience (i.e. install and maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and industrial production and processing systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs on HVAC Systems
  • Experience working in an educational environment
  • EPA 608 certification    

DUTIES:

  • Repair, maintain, remodel steam and heating water systems
  • Install and maintain Control Systems
  • Operate and maintain Energy Management System    

THE UNIT: The unit of Facilities consists of approximately 140 staff members
