Substitute/Float Teacher

Due to growth in enrollment, multiple full-time University staff position are available in The Children’s Nature Academy beginning Spring/Summer 2021. The working title for this assignment is Substitute and Float Teacher with an official title of Educational Assistant-ENT.  This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred qualifications include coursework in Early Child Development, knowledge of accreditation and child care licensing, ability to work with multiple personalities in a supportive role, flexibility to work with multiple age groups. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from a regionally accredited institution is required.

 

DUTIES:

*Lesson planning and assessment

*Maintaining required paperwork

*Maintaining learning environment in keeping with the standards of accreditation and licensing

*Managing children’s behaviors through positive guidance that is developmentally appropriate

*Working collaboratively with teachers throughout the facility

*Facilitating learning through curriculum, including nature experiences. 

*Mentoring UWEC and CVTC student assistants, practicum students, interns, and other adult learners.

*Communicating with families, staff and administration. 

*Serving as a teacher in various classrooms for a limited period; summer, substitute teaching when necessary, teaching on days when 4K is not in session.
