Assistant Director of Leadership and Education - Housing & Residence Life

POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in Housing and Residence Life beginning June 15, 2021.  The working title for this assignment is Assistant Director with an official title in the Assistant Director title series.  This is renewable assignment, contingent on performance and funding.  The hiring salary will be in the range of $55,000 - $60,000 per year and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required, with 3 years of post-graduate experience in program planning, advising or creation of learning initiatives. Demonstrated experience and commitment in leading diversity, equity, and inclusiveness initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience in a residence hall setting, direct experience with living learning community programs, demonstrated experience working with assessment data are preferred.

DUTIES: The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting student learning in the residence halls, student leadership development, multicultural education, residence hall programming, and professional staff development. This will involve coordination of all living learning initiatives, student development, leadership and equity/diversity/inclusivity education, and departmental assessment initiatives.  This involves the supervision of advising of all student organizations, developing policies relating to programming efforts in all residence halls and campus-wide, providing developmental opportunities for professional staff and student leaders, and various other administrative and programmatic responsibilities.

THE UNIT: The unit of Housing and Residence Life consists of 32 staff members serving a population of 4000 students in 15 residence halls.
