Residence Hall Director (2 Positions)

A full-time, fiscal year, professional academic staff live-in position is available in Housing and Residence Life beginning July 2021. The working title for this assignment is Residence Hall Director with an official title in the Residence Hall Manager title series. The salary will be $36,000 and a furnished apartment, meal plan, pet policy, and other liberal fringe benefits.


  • A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.  
  • Previous experience in residence hall living or employment



  • A master’s degree student personnel or related field
  • Supervision experience
  • Hall leadership experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.


DUTIES: The person selected for this position will be responsible for overall operation of a residence hall, supervision of undergraduate resident assistants and potentially graduate hall directors, and front desk staff.

  • Programming, judicial, counseling, staff selection and training
  • Advising hall government
  • Committee responsibilities
  • Supervision of front desk operations including food and beverage sales
  • Promotion of EDI principles in their community
  • Coordination of housekeeping and maintenance services
  • Campus Security Authority (CSA)


THE UNIT: The unit of Housing and Residence Life consists of 11 staff members, plus Residence Hall Directors and Residence Hall Assistants.  All Housing and Residence Life staff are here to help incoming and current students with questions they have about living on campus in one of our 14 residence halls. Each of our residence halls has its own personality to fit the needs of our students during their time on campus. UW-Eau Claire Housing and Residence Life is here to provide a home away from home.
