Contact Tracer

POSITION: Two part-time or full-time university staff positions are available in Student Health Services beginning as soon as possible. The working title for this assignment is Contact Tracer with an official title of Professional Consultant. This is a temporary assignment. The expected hourly hiring salary will be $16-20/hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A thorough knowledge of basic technology skills including word processing and data entry; ability to maintain confidentiality. ability to give direction with empathy, concern, and compassion; experience with oral communication skills, including the ability to engage appropriately in sensitive phone conversation; ability to maintain confidentiality; solid organizational skills and strong attention to detail, including the ability to document phone conversations and information with 100% accuracy.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Previous experience as a contact tracer for a public health department, medical facility, or university health service; prior or current experience as a practicing medical health care professional (e.g. nurse); demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

 DUTIES: University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire desires to hire contract tracers for fall should the university need to supplement the contact tracing for COVID-19 cases that is offered by the Eau Claire County Health Department and UW-Eau Claire Student Health Services. Contract tracers will be required to complete a four-hour training before being allowed to begin tracing efforts. Contract tracers are encouraged to complete the tracing remotely. In some circumstances, contact tracers may be able to work from the privacy of an office on the UW-Eau Claire campus. Work will be performed on weekends during one of two (9:30-6:00pm or 11:30am-8:00pm), shifts.
