Management and Marketing: Assistant/Associate Professor in Marketing

A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate professor is available in the Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in Marketing who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active program involving undergraduates. This appointment carries an initial two-year probationary appointment beginning with the 2021/2022 academic year, beginning August 23, 2021.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate or ABD in Marketing or related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution is required.  ABD applicants must have their terminal degree conferred by June 30, 2022.  Desired area of specialty is in general marketing (with interests in teaching marketing research, principles of marketing, promotions, digital marketing).  Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activity required. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Marketing experience, evidence of successful university teaching, as well as demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness are all considered an asset. 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for an individual who has a desire to be involved a growing Marketing program.  Position would be working with our marketing students and would be teaching potential courses such as marketing research, principles of marketing, promotions, digital marketing.  Additional responsibilities would include working with community members through class projects, and engaging students in high impact practices. 

Applicants will be expected to teach courses as assigned in the Department of  Management and Marketing, participate in research and scholarly activities, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.  Teaching responsibilities may involve classroom, online, and/or hybrid delivery in both the undergraduate and at the MBA level. 

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Management and Marketing is a vibrant and cohesive group of teachers and scholars, dedicated to excellence in teaching and remaining current in their fields through scholarly activity.  The department offers five majors:  Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, and International Business.  Emphases within the Marketing major include General Marketing, Marketing Analytics and Sales.  The department serves over 1200 undergraduate majors, and helps support the UW System Consortium online MBA program.  The department is housed in UW – Eau Claire’s AACSB accredited College of Business.
