Medical Laboratory Technologist

A part-time, (70%) professional academic staff position is available in Student Health Service beginning August 2020. This is a Monday-Friday position during the academic year with minimal hours during breaks and summer. This is renewable assignment, contingent on performance and funding. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution; ASCP certification or ability to obtain; Current knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment;   Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Two years’ experience working in a laboratory setting; Experience with ICQP Plans and CLIA Inspection; Strong computer skills.

 DUTIES: As a key member of the UW-Eau Claire Student Health Service team, this person will manage and coordinate all aspects of a moderately complex laboratory as defined by the Healthcare Financing Administration in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act ’88. This position requires independent work and maintenance of certification standards and governmental regulations which apply to laboratory practice and must assure quality performance.
