Inserting a File

While designing your web page, you may find it necessary to insert an existing file containing an image or information that is relevant to your work. The existing file may contain text, images and links. The Insert File option, unlike Copy and Paste, allows you to preserve any relative links contained in the inserted file. To learn more about inserting images, refer to Working with Images.

  1. Place the insertion point where you want to insert the file

  2. From the Insert menu, select File...
The Select File dialog box appears.
    Select File dialog box

  3. Using the Look in pull-down list, navigate to and select the desired file to be inserted
HINT: To view a file type that is not displayed, from the Files of type pull-down list, select All Files (*.*)

  4. Click OPEN
    Double click the file
    The file is inserted.
