Student jobs

Perhaps you had a mentor when you were growing up, a neighbor, friend or relative who influenced your life and impacted who you are today. Being a positive role model for a student in your community can make a world of difference in that student's life. You can impact their hopes, dreams and future plans for themselves. Take action through our program by becoming a mentor and positively influence a young person's life.

Blugold Beginnings employs over 200 mentors, site coordinators, office workers and interns during both the fall and spring semesters. Work study positions are available. Service-Learning hours can be earned in all positions. Freshmen through graduate students are welcome to apply. Training is provided and required.

College Mentors work with elementary, middle or high school students promoting higher education and providing academic support. There are paid positions and volunteer positions available including work study and non-work study. Students should apply using Handshake through UW-Eau Claire Career Services.

STEAM Summer Team

Serve in a team of 10 college students to provide STEAM related opportunities to youth in the community. Enjoy a changing venue throughout the summer. Explore multiple Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics activities. Have fun with youth for your summer!

• Engage with Elementary, Middle, and High School students over the summer
• Use new technology to engage students
• Gain work experience and development of highly sought job skills
• Networking for career placement at all levels of the organization served, with partner organizations and throughout the community

Summer Camp Counselor

Serve in a team of 10 college students to lead 5 different summer camps for youth in the community. Enjoy a fun, engaging, learning based opportunity alongside peers and youth. Be a counselor for Robotics, STEM, Biomedical and Kinesiology, Coding and Art, Language and Culture camps through Blugold Beginnings.

Robotics Coach

Serve with a team of other college students in local middle schools. Work with Legos, robots and children. Lead teams of middle school students towards goals for competition with their robots. Engage in and lead creative discussion, problem solving and team building.
