Here are the frequently asked questions regarding housing and move-in for the Fall 2020 Semester.
When will students be notified of all safety guidelines and policies? Is there a timeline goal?
Safety guidelines are being developed across the summer, and students will receive periodic updates from the University, as well as a central website/clearinghouse for COVID information. Students should review emails frequently from the campus to remain updated and reference our website.
What safety precautions are being taken for bathroom cleaning or community spaces like kitchens, lounges, etc?
While health and safety precautions will continue to be developed across the summer, we know at present that we will be minimally be doing:
- Bathrooms will be deep cleaned once per day and additional disinfecting will occur each evening.
- Disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer will be available for students to use for personal sanitation in centralized locations.
- Drinking spigots will not be unavailable, but water bottle fillers will remain available. Students should bring a refillable water bottle.
- At this time, Housing is assessing whether we can safely open kitchens and fitness rooms in the resident halls. Watch for updates throughout the summer.
When can I move in and what is the move-in process?
UWEC is offering 2 drop-off weekends. Sign up is required at My Housing Portal > MISC. Students will not check-in or be able to live on campus at the time of drop-off. Students can gain access to their room to drop items and get rooms set up within a 2-hour window. Sign up instructions will be provided in July.
- August 15-16 and August 22-23 will be Early Drop Off weekends in select halls. More information on the process and how to sign up with be provided in July. Watch your UWEC email.
- If Early Drop Off does not work for your schedule, plan to move in Thursday, August 27, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Friday, August 28, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.; or Saturday, August 29, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. NOTE: Sign up for a 2-hour window is required on My Housing Portal > MISC.
