Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
A $10 service charge for camps charging under $100 and a $25 service charge for camps charging $100 and higher will be withheld from all refunds. Refunds are permitted up to one week before your camp session begins. Within one week of your camp session, only medical reasons will be accepted for a refund. Once the camp session begins, no refunds will be given. Emergencies and injuries will be handled on an individual basis.
What is the difference between overnight and commuter campers?
Overnight campers will be housed in one of the residence halls located on the UW-Eau Claire campus. The rooms are double occupancy (two single beds). Campers will be provided with a pillow and linens, but should bring their own bath towel and sundries. Campers will be supervised by counselors and coaches who stay in the same residence hall. Overnight campers will have three well-balanced meals each full day. Meals are included in the registration fee.
Commuters are campers who elect not to stay overnight in the residence halls. Commuters do not eat breakfast on campus but may be provided with lunch and dinner (where noted). Commuters will be able to go to the residence halls between sessions with teammates or friends if they choose.
What type of supervision is provided?
All campers will be supervised by directors and staff and they will be expected to follow rules and guidelines of respect for one another and for UW-Eau Claire. University security and camp staff are on duty at all times.
Only commuter campers will be allowed to travel off campus. Overnight campers are expected to remain on campus throughout camp unless parents need to transport campers to an off-campus appointment during the week. Camp directors must be notified at the start of camp of these appointments.
What medical coverage is provided during camp?
A first responder will be on campus and available throughout the camp as a member of the camp staff. A clinic and hospital are located within one-half mile of campus. As part of the registration, each camper must complete a medical history form. Each camper must be in good physical
condition when he/she arrives at camp. Every camper must have their own health and dental insurance.
Is Blugold Camps covered by insurance?
Campers are encouraged to have their own health insurance as limited accident insurance is provided by the university.
Might photos be taken of my camper?
The University may take photographs and/or videos of event participants and activities. By registering, you agree that the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire shall be the owner of and may use such photographs and/or videos relating to the promotion of future events. You relinquish all rights that I may claim in relation to use of said photographs and/or videos.
