Working on campus is a great way to earn money that goes toward your tuition, fees, or housing costs. And money isn't the only thing you'll get out of it. You will gain valuable work and life experiences that will prepare you for your future. UW-Eau Claire offers over 4,400 on-campus student employment opportunities each year in a variety of positions, including:
"Students who work fewer than 15-20 hours often report higher GPAs than those who do not work at all."
-Journal of College Student Retention, 2006
Not sure how much you'll need to work? Talk to the Financial Aid Office -they will typically include work study as part of your financial aid package and give you a better idea of how many hours you'll need to work each semester. Work study positions are offered to students who show financial need, but many other positions are available to students regardless of financial need. The Advising, Retention and Career Center lists student employment positions both on and off campus. Browse available positions on our Hire-A-Blugold site.
