Message from the Dean of Graduate Studies

The University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire is known for quality graduate programs that build on strong undergraduate programs, meet regional needs, and emphasize individual attention with faculty mentors. We are fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA) to offer work at the master's, education specialist, and doctoral levels. We are a member of the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS), as well as the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS).

The University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire is known for excellent graduate programs that increase the potential of undergraduate students and returning adults to succeed; due in large part to a well-rounded faculty with years of professional experience. Further, the knowledge gained from these programs often allow our students to move ahead within their professions, achieve higher salaries, and increase their possibilities for promotion.

We do this with an emphasis on personal working relationships between faculty and students in a variety of learning situations. Our programs include scholarly and creative activities; emphasizing discipline-specific research, the acquisition of new knowledge, and the immediate application of these skills to their careers. For years, our programs have enhanced the personal lives of our students, fostered intellectual development, and contributed to local, national and global communities.

Our campus offers Master's degrees in Athletic Training, Business Administration (online), Communication Sciences and Disorders (both on-site and online), Data Science (online), Education, History, Nursing, and School Psychology. Also offered is the Education Specialist degree in School Psychology, and Doctor of Nursing Practice. Our graduate programs vary in format, from traditional full-time programs to exclusively online classes, evening courses, and those such as nursing, that offer a one day per week course schedule for working professionals.

We are an esteemed member of the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS), as well as the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS). We are also fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools (NCA) to offer work at the master's, education specialist, and doctoral levels.

In our work environments, each of us is expected to gain new skills and knowledge to increase our value as employees, and members of our communities. Further, each of us hopes to improve the lives of those around us and serve others in need. There is no better, more affordable way to continue your life-long learning than through UW-Eau Claire. No matter what your educational goals may be, let us help make it better.

Mary F. Hoffman, PhD
