Unified Early Childhood

Prepared for anything

The only program of its kind in this region, this major is a dual-licensure program aimed as supporting Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction guidelines requiring that all students be taught in the least restrictive environments possible. Meaning what exactly? Inclusion is key, and students with special needs or disabilities learn alongside their peers more often than not. Graduates of this program will hold licenses in both early childhood special education and regular early childhood education, which include kindergarten through third grade.

They are trained to teach any young child in any learning environment, meeting demand for teachers in two areas of shortage. With classes taken during winterim, two summer sessions, the program is designed to be completed in four years. For complete degree requirements see the course catalog.
