The great part about a liberal arts degree is the broad range of skills and knowledge you gain from the variety of coursework you take. A degree in sociology takes that diversity to the next level. As a sociology major or minor, you will explore a wide variety of courses in areas such as inter-group relationships, social change, urban and rural life, contemporary social issues and social movements.  On top of that you can choose elective courses in areas such as race and ethnic relations, sociology of gender, social class issues, families and intimate relationships, and media and culture. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it?

The only required course is Introduction to Sociology;after that you can select an additional 21 credits of electives from a range of sociology courses. The only caveat is that at least 12 credits need to be from upper division courses in sociology. Check out the flexibility and options with a sociology minor.
