If you are an education major, you may want to look at sociology teaching as an option for your minor. You will combine your education courses within the College of Education and Human Sciences with some of our sociology courses. This minor is a great fit for any education major, as the social dynamics you will face every day in the classroom are directly related to the topics we cover in our coursework.

Early Adolescence/Adolescence Teaching minor

24 credits

This minor is only available to education students. The courses you will take within sociology will focus around race and ethnicity, family relationships, social problems, and sociological theory. This coursework will prepare you to work with and understand your students at a completely different level, as well as being able to teach them how to face the social inequities of everyday life.
