Academic Program

The perfect match

The Materials Science and Engineering Center has been around (under a shorter name) since 2004, and it just keeps getting better every year. With the addition of the academic program in 2007, the perfect match was created between aspiring materials scientists — and now engineers as well — and the real-world application of scientific knowledge and problem solving. If only every program on campus were so lucky! From day one of their studies, our materials science and engineering students have opportunities to see the industry needs, issues, and be part of the solutions . . . .as undergrads.

Industry partners interested in finding out more about the academic program can view the links below to get a better idea of exactly what degrees and areas of emphasis are offered, and how students can be actively engaged in pursuing solutions to the materials questions or projects brought to the Center by businesses. Frankly, we think it's a match made in heaven.
