Let languages take you places

Modern technology and conveniences have made the world a more interconnected place than it has ever been. People from across the globe are able to interact professionally and personally on a daily basis with ease. Set yourself up for success as an active global citizen by pursuing a degree in a language.

Each of the programs focuses on the practical usage of language combined with a liberal arts education. And once you have developed a sound foundation, you are strongly encouraged to immerse yourself in what you’ve studied through a study abroad opportunity. Explore all of the degree, languages and certificate options in the languages department list on the right. For advising guides and more information for the majors and minors, take a look at the Department of Languages Blugold Insider Page.

See specific details about our majors and minors.

There are so many different languages you can choose from and the faculty and staff here really focus on your learning. They give you opportunities to use what you have learned, and they value the idea of learning languages. They do not judge you and they are welcoming to all those who are interested, so do not be afraid to put yourself out there and pursue what you love to do.
