Is graduate school for you?

Whether you are a certified English teacher looking to advance career opportunities, a creative writer who intends to seek new publishing or teaching avenues, or perhaps someone who plans to pursue a doctorate in English, the master’s degrees available in the English department will provide the rigor and support necessary to elevate your academic and career goals.

Graduate degrees offered in English:

Master of Arts in English: Literature and Textual Interpretation
Master of Arts in English: Writing

Our programs are small enough that students may cultivate close working relationships with faculty members and classmates and flexible enough that students may tailor course selections and thesis work to suit their personal and professional interests. The programs reside within a large department whose extraordinarily dynamic and productive faculty offer diverse areas of expertise.
