Faculty Writing Support
Are you working on an article, book manuscript, grant application, or other writing project that you’d very much like to complete? Do you need feedback on your work in progress or information on how to prepare manuscripts for publication? The Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) can help.
The CWE supports all writers at UWEC, providing our faculty with the support they need to become—or continue to be—a productive writer and scholar. The CWE's Faculty Writing Support Program offers ongoing support and resources for faculty and staff as they write. Whether new to UWEC or a seasoned colleague, ALL faculty and staff are eligible to benefit.
A key element of the Faculty Writing Support Program are our on-campus week-long retreats held during summer and Winterim. These retreats help you set up a writing schedule and give you the push needed to maintain productivity. For five days, you’ll focus on a writing project so you can make substantial headway on it (if not complete it) among supportive colleagues in the distraction-free space of the Center for Writing Excellence.
The CWE also offers support for establishing ongoing multidisciplinary writing groups. During the year, when grading and committee work diverts so much of your attention, a writing group can give you the support and structure you need to stay productive.
Look for additional support—including ongoing writing retreats, workshops, and visiting speakers—coming soon.
You’ll receive announcements and registration information about the workshops and the retreats via email. Feel free to contact CWE director Dr. Jonathan Rylander with questions.
