All students who have had two or more years of French, German, Spanish or Japanese must take the foreign language test unless they have been out of high school for three or more years.
Description of the French, German, and Spanish Test
There are several general characteristics that each of the UW System Foreign Language Placement Tests in French, German, and Spanish share. Each portion of the test is entirely in the foreign language (except for the instructions) and all questions have a fixed-choice reponse format. The French, German, and Spanish test is scored as the number of correct answers, with no penalty for guessing and each item has only one best answer.
The tests have a score range of 150 to 850.
