Campus Sustainability Network

Anyone who works on campus sustainability initiatives is part of the CSN.  Work Groups--small cores of interested members who focus on specific areas--lend structure to the Network. These groups  review recommendations from students in the biennial Campus Carbon Footprint classes, determine short and long term goals, and develop projects to help the campus meet its goals.

Projects are advertised to the whole campus as a call for volunteers to work on specific outcomes within clearly defined time commitments--some will involve just a few hours over a couple of days, while others may involve an hour or two a month, over a year or more. News from the work groups appears on the Sustainability Initiatives News Blog.

A small advisory committee of campus leaders meets twice yearly and serves to lend support and provide vital information to the work group leaders.

Interns from CNT (Carbon Neutral Team) 2010 created slideshows (linked below) to introduce basic information about our campus carbon footprint generally as well as more in-depth information about an area that contributes to it.

Each presentation includes the students' recommendations reducing the campus greenhouse gas emissions related to that area.  These recommendations provide well-informed beginning points for Work Groups, but we also welcome input and ideas from the larger campus community.
