Free Astronomy lectures at Hobbs Observatory, 8pm on the third Saturday of January - November (telescope viewing afterwards once it is dark out). The observatory is made available to the public through the Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society.
To get to Hobbs Observatory: Travel East on Clairemont (Highway 12), through Altoona and to Fall Creek. In Fall Creek, turn left on County Road K, and travel a few miles (go past "SS"; but if you reach a stop sign you went too far.) The observatory is on the left, just before (but across the road from) Beaver Creek Reserve nature center.
