American Association of Critical Care Nurses: Offers several research grants to drive change in high acuity and critical care nursing practice. Awards range from $1,500 to $50,000.

National Institute of Nursing Research: Seeks to improve the health and health care of Americans through funding nursing research and research training.

American Nurses Foundation: Provides funds to beginner and experienced nurse researchers to conduct studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient care. Awards are given in all areas of nursing, including healthy patient outcomes, health care policy development, gerontology, community and family intervention. Average awards are under $5,000. 

National League for Nursing - Nursing Education Research Grants: Supports high-quality studies that contribute to the development of the science of nursing education. Awards average $7,500.  

National Patient Safety Foundation: seeks to stimulate new, innovative projects directed toward enhancing patient safety in the United States. The program's objective is to promote studies leading to the prevention of human errors, system errors, patient injuries, and the consequences of such adverse events in the health care setting. Awards are up to $100,000. 

Oncology Nursing Society: Provides awards, scholarships, and research grants. Average awards are $5,000 to $10,000. 

Sigma Theta Tau International: provide leadership and scholarship in practice, education and research, STTI and collaborating nursing organizations present the following research grant opportunities to nurses around the globe. Awards are up to $10,000. 

Wisconsin Partnership Program: Offers the Community-Academic Partnership Fund and the Collaborative Health Sciences Program. Awards range from $100,000 to $500,000.
