American Folklore Society - Grimshaw Prize for Folklore or Ethnomusicology: Offers faculty and student stipends to support folklore or ethnomusicology projects with a significant connection to libraries and/or archives. 

American Musicological Society: Offers  travel and research grants as well as fellowships, awards, and prizes.

Asian Cultural Council: Provides assistance to conduct research, study, receive specialized training, undertake observation tours, or pursue creative activity in Asia. Awards are up to $10,000.

MetLife Creative Connections: Serves music-makers and their audiences in the twenty-first century. Programs include:

  • New Music USA: Provides support for American composers to participate in public activities related to specific performances of their original music. Metlife Creative Connections applications are submitted by a Sponsoring Organization requesting support for one or more composers participating in public activities organized, sponsored, and/or presented by the organization. Awards range from $250 to $3,500.
  • Commissioning Music/USA: Provides commissioning fees as well as technical assistance in managing the entire life-cycle of a commissioning project. Awards range from $10,000 to $20,000. 

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation - USArtists International Performance Grants: Supports American dance, music, and theater ensembles and solo performers that have been invited to perform at international festivals and for performance engagements that represent extraordinary career opportunities anywhere in the world outside of the United States. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000.
