McIntyre Library provides laptops and iPads for students to check out free of charge, as well as digital still and video cameras. You can visit the Equipment Checkout Counter, adjacent to the library's Circulation Desk to pick up your equipment. A Blugold card must be presented when checking out equipment. Equipment cannot be reserved. All equipment checkouts are done on a first-come, first-served basis. If an item is available, it can can be checked out for exactly 7 days.
Students may request the use of library Student Group Study Rooms by presenting their Blugold cards at the Circulation Desk.
The fastest way to get books and other circulating items from libraries in the UW System, Resource Sharing takes mere days to get you the items you need. Try to get your books through Resource Sharing before turning to Interlibrary Loan.

Faculty who need to reserve videos or other media for class on specific days should submit the Media Scheduling Form.
Faculty and Academic Staff currently employed at UW-Eau Claire may designate up to two people per semester to use the proxy service. This proxy authorization will permit faculty and academic staff to send a student assistant or the department program assistant to the library to pick up materials to be used by the faculty/academic staff member. The designated proxy will be able to use his/her personal Blugold card to do the checkout. Faculty and Academic Staff wishing to initiate a proxy authorization should fill out a Proxy Authorization Request.
Deliver To My Department!
Faculty and staff can have library materials delivered to their department and have previously delivered materials picked up by library staff. You may select to have up to five (5) library items delivered to your department's mail room. To request items to be delivered to your department, select "Deliver to My Department" as the Pickup Location when you are requesting a book in the library's online catalog. We will deliver these materials Monday through Friday, typically between 9 and 10 a.m. You can expect to receive items within 48 hours of placing your request. Please use this submission form to request a pick-up of items you wish to return. Please leave your library material(s) on the desk at your department's mail stop after you submit a pick up request. This delivery program excludes Interlibrary Loan and bulk materials. In the event that an item cannot be delivered, you will be notified via email. All items will be checked out to your account.
McIntyre Library now provides free library cards to children of UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff. Cards will be given to children ages 10-17 and are valid for one year; these cards are renewable. Parents and legal guardians will be responsible for all items checked out on their child's card, and are asked to observe the same loan periods for library materials as undergraduate students and community members. Universal Borrowing and Interlibrary Loan services are not extended to child card holders. Faculty and staff wishing to obtain a card for their child should fill out the Faculty/Staff Dependent Registration Form (.pdf) and turn in a signed copy to the circulation desk.
- Lockers in the library are available for all students. The charge is $10.00 per locker, per semester.
- Room 5029 is a study room for graduate and nontraditional students only. Access is by combination lock and graduate and nontraditional students can get the combination from the Circulation Desk staff upon presentation of their Blue Gold card. Lockers in this room are available for rent at the Circulation Desk. The charge is $10.00 per locker, per semester.
- Printer paper is available for purchase at the Circulation Desk. A bundle of 50 sheets costs $1.00.
