Cancellation Policy

When you completed the housing application you signed a housing contract just like signing an off campus lease. The University holds a space for you based on your application so make sure you are aware of the cancellation terms below.

Before May 1, 2018 and you no longer want to live in University Sponsored Housing for 2018-2019:
Please go to, My Housing Portal, My Application to cancel your application and housing contract.  You will receive a refund of your $75 housing deposit in 2-3 weeks after you submit cancellation.

If you are on a waitlist with no assignment as of May 1, 2018, you will receive an assignment once one is available. Not having an assignment on May 1, 2018 is not grounds for cancellation after May 1st. You have signed the contract and will be held to the terms of this contract.

You may request to change contract terms from 9-month academic to 12-month yearly contracts until May 1st. As of May 1st at 11:59pm, what contract selection you have designated will be the terms you will be held to and financially responsible for.

After May 1st:
If you still plan to attend UWEC and wish to cancel your 2018-2019 Housing application, you will be held responsible for the entire length of the contract unless you are released by the Director of Housing. Submit a request to cancel at and My Housing Portal, My Application. The Director will review all request and provide an email response within 10 business days.
