Named after Laura E. Sutherland who was a faculty member (English, 1921-1959) and dean of women (1939-1947).
Sutherland Hall was built in 1965 and provides accommodations for approximately 140 men and 260 women. Sutherland Hall is the second largest residence hall next to Towers Hall.
Sutherland Hall is located on upper campus, near the Crest Wellness Center, tennis courts, and volleyball courts.
Sutherland Hall is home to the
Social Justice Living Community and the

Some annual events of Sutherland Hall include an S'mores Kickoff, All-campus Haunted House, Voices for Justice Benefit Auction, homecoming activities, outdoor movies, cookouts, and more!
