The IEP at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire is a great place to study English!
We are located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, a small, friendly, and safe city with great quality of life. We have a beautiful campus located on the Chippewa River, and a lot of free time activities on and off campus; for example, soccer (football) and volleyball, and also skiing, swimming and biking. Our students live in university housing or one of our dorms' Living Learning Communities, where they make friends for life. The best thing about UW-EC, our students say, are the friends they make here.
Our IEP and ESL programs are here to help students learn English (and much more!) so you can successfully enter the university. Therefore, we have small, focused classes taught by experienced, qualified instructors. We connect you to our university and our community through host friend and conversation partner programs, and involvement in student organizations. We teach you about how to be a successful student at a US university through an excellent, ongoing orientation to UW-EC and Learning to Learn classes that help you understand who you are as a learner and how to succeed.
The ESL Program meets and exceeds International Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)'s Standards for Postsecondary Programs as well as NAFSA's Principles of International Educational Exchange.
