Purpose of the Organization
The Center for International Education International Student Services supports international students during their time at UW-Eau Claire.
Volunteer Opportunities Available
Volunteers for our organization will serve as either Peer Guides for our International Student Orientation to welcome and lead a group of incoming international students to UW-Eau Claire or as general orientation volunteers to assist with general orientation duties.
> Peer Guide is a 2-week commitment -- 1 week of training and 1 week of orientation. Peer Guides are volunteers who can complete service learning hours and all Peer Guides are given a stipend to off-set personal costs of orientation (meals, etc). Recruitment for Peer Guides begins in late February for Fall semester orientation. To apply, complete the eForm application found on our website.
> Orientation volunteers do not need to apply but merely express interest. We accept volunteers for all hours of orientation week -- volunteers can work as many hours as they wish. Service learning is also available for orientation volunteers. General duties include helping students retrieve their textbooks, guiding students around campus, taking students on tours of downtown Eau Claire, and general office duties.
