What is Blugold
Performance of the Air? |
In February of 2002, Blugold Performance of the Air emerged
as a one hour program specifically designed to feature UW-Eau Claire
students and faculty performing music, readings, forensics, and other types
of performances. Today, besides airing recordings of the actual
performances, the show also provides background information for the group
or performer featured each week.
Blugold Performance of the Air is broadcast at 5:00 p.m.
every Sunday during the school year. See above for a schedule of airings
for the semester.

Who is Involved? |
Blugold Performance of the Air is completely operated by students of the
University. All of the editing, producing and broadcasting that goes into
each program is entirely performed by students using concert recordings
that are provided by UW- Eau Claire's Teaching and Learning Technology
Development Center.
Because WUEC-FM is affiliated with Wisconsin Public
Radio(WPR), some of the performances are recorded at the WPR studios, but
most of the work for the show is done on campus at the WUEC-FM studio in
the Haas Fine Arts building.
|
The Future of
Blugold Performance of the Air |
|
Blugold
Performance of the Air hopes to expand its program by offering a wider
variety of performances. Types of broadcasts that are being considered
for the near future are spoken-word artists, radio drama, poetry and
short stories.
