25-Sept	Analyze field samples in the lab
2-Oct	No lab meetings -- excel tutorials, readings
9-Oct	Data analysis in excel, discussion, writing 13-Oct Pigeon Lake Field trip Themes: The problem of sampling populations and communities; Species identification. Subtexts: Field experience; Cohort-bonding Group 1 leaves ~ noon on Friday, returns Saturday afternoon Group 2 leaves ~ noon on Saturday, returns Sunday afternoon This counts as two labs. Alternative assignment: Field taxonomy notebook. 30 animals from N Phyla, 20 plants from Y Phyla, 4 fungi from 2 Phyla, each described, sketched, and identified to lowest possible taxonomic level, no pets, no houseplants.
