Welcome to the Geography 445 (Historical Geography) web page. This site represents the hard work of geography students at UWEC in putting together a preliminary historical Geographic Information System on events surrounding the Vietnam War. Students in the class worked on a variety of historical GIS projects, which can be viewed using the links to the left. These links represent a summary of the work completed, but if you want to view the data within a GIS, or use the data for your own research, please use the links on the bottom left.The instructions link will tell you how to download and use free software for viewing the data, or for downloading the data for your own needs. If you do come across any discreptancies in the data, please do contact us. This project needs outside imput to improve. Inevitably there are errors in the data sets, and we want to fix those, so please let us know. In fact, just send us an email of what you think. Thank you, and enjoy the site.
