Where and when do you ski?

We ski on Lake Altoona or the Chippewa River whenever one of our boat drivers is able to take the boat out. The boat gets out around 3 - 7 times a week and every time that it is taken out the whole team is notified. We ski until there is ice on the water in the fall and get back on the water the day the ice is off in the spring.

What boat do you ski with?

Our team has a deal that allows us to receive a brand new top of the line ski boat every fall season. Our team makes monthly payments on the boat, which are paid for through the collection of dues and fundraising activities.

How much does joining the club cost?

Dues are $50 for the fall semester and $50 for the spring (or $90 for both at the beginning of the year); aslo, it is required that every member have waterski insurance through USA Water-ski, which is $35 per year.

Dues help pay for the boat payments, gas for the boat, insurance on the boat, equipment for the team, and pay some tournament expenses.

What kind of experience do I need?

None! Our team varies in ability from people who can't ski at all to people who make the sport look way too easy. Our better skiers are always willing to give advice to the new(er) skiers.

What kind of tournaments does the club ski in?

In the fall: one 3 event (slalom, trick, jump), one wakeboarding tournament, one 2 event barefoot tournament (slalom, trick). In the Spring: one 3 event, one wakeboarding (minnimum).

What equipment does the club have?

For our boat we have a Fly High, Barefoot Boom, Fat Sacs, Slalom Skis, Dry Suit, Jump Skis, Helmet, Jerseys, Trick Skis, and we are buying more equipment each year. Many skiers also bring personal equipment which they are often willing to share.
