The figure on the left shows the part of the spectrogram containing the fundamentals for the repetition of the notes of the main theme as played by strings. The figure on the right shows a processed spectrogram, containing only the frequencies for the fundamentals of the string notes. When this processed file is played, we hear tones for the main theme, but they no longer sound like strings due to the loss of timbre in removing the overtones.
