The figure on the left shows the string glissando and notes of the flute introduction. The image on the right shows a processed spectrogram that isolates just the fundamentals of flute notes. Notice that the notes sound slightly different (due to change of timbre from the loss of overtones) and also that the melody sounds slightly different due to the loss of the background from the strings (both constant tone and glissando).
