The corpus collusum contains numerous electro-chemical connections between regions of the left and right hemispheres of the brain. It establishes integration of different aspects of processing in these regions (the so-called "left-brain" and "right-brain" aspects of conciousness). As a complex conscious experience, musical experience, is processed by both the right and left hemispheres, and the corpus collosum provides communication and integration between these two hemispheres.
