The spectrogram of Sierpinski round shows the construction from superpositioning the Sierpinski passage (see Musical Synthesis for further discussion on how the Sierpinski passage was created) along with two translated copies of it (a "round"). The interlacing, at equivalent Z_12 positions (same pitch class, because of 1 octave separation), of the rising sides of the triangles, creates the Shepard illusion of constantly rising pitch. (It might be argued that for this example the spectrogram is more artistically interesting than the music.)
