Presentations
The presentations we offer for the classroom, campus groups, and the public include:
Sex, Gender and Sexual Identity
This presentation will be a general discussion about sex, gender, and sexual identity and will highlight the differences between each category. Through student discussion and interaction, we examine the ways in which gender and sexuality inform our everyday lives.
The “F” Word
This presentation will address the basic principles of feminism. Many students have misconceptions about feminism; therefore, much of the presentation will focus on the various definitions of feminism, as well as common myths and stereotypes. The presentation will be discussion based, which will allow students to be active participants.
Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center
This presentation will be a short, general discussion about the Women’s and LGBTQ Resource Center. We will discuss the center's mission statement, goals, services, programs, and upcoming events. We will also address where the center is located, how students can contact the women's and LGBTQ program coordinators, and how students can become involved.
Safe Space Training
The Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center is able to provide information regarding Safe Space training and, in conjunction with the Affirmative Action Office, will assist you in scheduling a specific session for your classroom, office, or department.
If you have other requests for presentations, please do not hesitate to contact the Women's and LGBTQ Resource Center. We will attempt to either tailor presentations to your specific needs or will locate resources to assist you.
