    Recommendation that Chapter III. Section I. Eligibility (page 3.2) of the Faculty and Academic Staff Handbook be modified as follows:
    I. Eligibility. Members of the instructional academic staff who hold appointments of 50 percent or more in an academic department or functional equivalent, whose principal assignment is teaching and/or coaching in athletics, who possess the qualifications normally required of ranked members of the faculty, and whose letter of appointment does not contain the statement that there is "no intent to renew," may be granted "faculty status."
