The university wordmark is a graphic that has been precisely designed with specific measurements and placement of visual elements. To alter any of these relationships will undermine the purposes of having a consistent and recognizable institutional identity.
The official wordmark (see below) must appear on the front cover of every publication and prominently in any advertisement or display.
Do not download these images for print. Their resolution has been reduced for use on this Web page and will not print well. Contact the Publications Office for the wordmark on paper or electronically, or click here for a downloadable version. |

The wordmark must not be changed or embellished in any way other than proportional sizing. The wordmark may be reversed out of a solid background color but must be treated as a solid image when overprinting a patterned background. No type or graphics should overprint the wordmark. One-color reproduction of the wordmark may be printed in the color of the publication. In a two-color publication the wordmark may appear in either of the two colors providing there is adequate contrast, or it may be reversed out. Note that no version of the wordmark uses the abbreviated form "UW-Eau Claire."
Here are some examples of how the seal might be used in conjunction with the wordmark, although other combinations may also be used:

If you choose to use a different font to represent your department/office, there must be sufficient visual separation from the wordmark. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact the Publications Office.
Use the typeface Giovanni if you would like to incorporate your department/office name with the wordmark. |

Other program marks (symbols, lettermarks and logos) that UW-Eau Claire colleges, schools, departments, units, programs and offices use to identify themselves may be included in university publications. However, the university wordmark must be prominent and there must be sufficient separation between the program mark and the wordmark. There must also be sufficient separation between the program mark and the university seal/medallion. See the following examples of the correct use of program marks in university publications:
