SIGMA SIGMA SIGMA HISTORY

The Founders:
Tri Sigma was founded in Farmville, VA at Longwood College on April 20, 1898. Eight young women had a drea and they made it come true by forming this sorority.

These women's names are:
Margaret Batten, Louise Davis, Martha Trent Featherston, Isabella Merrick, Sallie Michie, Lelia Scott, Elisabeth Watkins, and Lucy Wright.

Random Sigma Facts:

Sigma Sigma Sigma is the only Sorority with a hearing impaired chapter

"Where the Heart Is" was written by a Tri-Sigma

Carebears were invented by a Tri-Sigma

Tri Sigma was the first NPC group to establish chapters in Alaska

Nationally, 71% of Greeks graduate, while only 50% of non-Greeks do

Carrie Underwood is a Tri-Sigma from Oklahoma
