Bob Baca, well-loved music professor, shares his secret. "Performing music at my very edge gives me a better understanding of what students experience; solutions come easier." Bob challenges his craft by performing frequently in Twin Cities Broadway Shows and orchestras.

Jason Halfen, chemistry professor, works hard - both in the lab and on the water. Besides being a semi-pro walleye angler, his research program is internationally recognized, he's published 52 research articles - many in top field journals - and 14 are co-authored by UWEC undergrads!

Catya von Károlyi, professor of psychology, specializes in developmental psych. When she's not teaching, advising or collaborating with students on their research, you might find her billed as "Catya", singing soulful blues and strumming her guitar in the local Eau Claire area.

Tess Onwueme's creative writing enriches students' experience. "What Mama Said is spellbinding theatre work! [This and her off-broadway] masterwork, The Missing Face, place her high among the ranks of playwrights."-Woodie King, Jr., Producing Director, New Federal Theatre, New York.

Tamara Lindsey, Curriculum and Instruction professor, has made international and national presentations on the art of storytelling, teacher education, literacy and more. Her "intellect, stories from her elementary schoolteacher days, and thigh-slapping humor" make her classes a favorite.

Chuck Tomkovick, marketing professor, is often noted for his teaching enthusiasm, energy and open-mindedness. Nationally, he's better known for his student-faculty marketing research on Super Bowl XL ads. Sound interesting? He is; he even plays at piano bars!

Nursing professor Susan Moch has traveled to Alaska several times with UWEC nursing students to work with patients and families from remote areas with limited healthcare. This valuable learning opportunity grew out of Susan's six years of work as a nurse in Alaska.
