V. Thomas Dock, dean of the UW-Eau Claire College of Business, will retire from the university effective July 1. Dock also served the university as acting vice chancellor for administration, finance and facilities during the 2008-09 academic year.
Under Dock’s leadership, faculty and staff were encouraged to continually examine and improve the college’s curriculum, delivery systems, and policies and procedures. During his tenure as dean, the college received AACSB International accreditation for the first time at the undergraduate and graduate levels; solicited more than $4 million in gifts and grants used to support technology, student scholarships, and faculty and staff professional development; created the university’s first endowed chair; and developed 12 named classrooms, labs and learning spaces within Schneider Hall.
A nationwide search for Dock’s successor is currently under way.
