Mark VanderWerf ’74, a UW-Eau Claire marketing graduate, has been elected to the College of Fellows of the American Telemedicine Association, the leading international resource that promotes the use of advanced remote medical technologies to improve quality, equity and affordability of health care throughout the world.
VanderWerf currently is vice president and director of eHealth and original equipment manufacturing for Nonin Medical. He also is an author and frequent speaker on mobile health, telemedicine and other emerging methods of delivering quality health care anywhere it is needed.
“Special classmates and skilled teachers at UW-Eau Claire gave me a great start and helped feed my fascination for business and technology,” VanderWerf said. “The fascination goes on!”
In his free time, VanderWerf, a UW-Eau Claire Foundation Circle of Excellence member, manages and helps fund the Community Table soup kitchen in Lowell, Mass. He also enjoys growing nectarines on his farm, where he is “almost finished” restoring his family’s 1764 farmhouse.
