Ave Bie ’79 has had an eventful year so far. In January the attorney was named managing partner of the Madison office of the national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP. Anna Nummelin ’06 and her husband, Tim Buchholz, are currently part of a four-person team ranked third in the nation in adventure racing by Checkpoint Tracker, one of two U.S. organizations that rank teams on a national level. Peter Mikulecky ’99 was just promoted from head of the science department to assistant director at Fusion Learning Center, a private academy for grades six through 12 and tutoring/mentoring program that serves California’s San Diego area. Mark Stewart ’83 has participated in Southwest Airlines’ award-winning Adopt-a-Pilot educational mentorship program for three years. This year he was adopted by Carrie Liebel’s fifth-grade class at Laurene Edmondson Elementary School in Loveland, Colo., where he lives.
