Technical Services provides the expertise needed to support and maintain the networking resources on campus. Personnel in Technical Services analyze, design and modify the integral parts of the campus' wired and wireless networks. They maintain and upgrade the networking equipment as well as work with various software platforms and applications needed to maintain the proper network functionality. It is the responsibility of this unit to coordinate the research and development of new host and network implementations with other LTS support groups.

Technical Services also provides system administration of the UW-Eau Claire local area networks and the interfaces to the Internet. Personnel in Technical Services design, install, maintain, and expand the data communications (equipment and cabling) in support of the administration, and the instructional, research, and service missions of the University. They work to design, install, and maintain local area networks as well as the campus wide area network.

It is the responsibility of Technical Services to ensure a reliable, safe, and up-to-date computer network on the UW-Eau Claire campus.
