To give our members quality lessons, T3 has student instructors who are professionally trained at Goggin Ballroom Dance Studio here in Eau Claire.
(Insert enthusiastic salutation here) ! I'm Thomas Nevins, and I'm in my third year as a student instructor for Two to Tango, after a year as one of the members. I am a Junior going for a double major in Physics and Mathematics. My "dance journey" (sounds so epic that way) goes back to middle school watching our local show choir and deciding that I could do that too. So I ended up having four great years in show choir, but at the college level show choir is just not a common thing so I transitioned into social dance like Two to Tango teaches. After the "basketball court dance" I was pretty much decided it was definately the group I wanted to be in. I did not have any interest in being a student instructor though. I am in this position right now for one simple reason, my wonderful fellow instructor Kate Meyers bugged me until I agreed to try it. And here I am! I do enjoy dancing and most anything with coordinated movement, I've also done a lot of karate and I LOVE dodgeball. I'm happy to be teaching the next generation. Moral of the story: If you want someone to join something, you just have to be persistent about pestering them.
Hello! I’m Roxie and I’m a senior physics and chemistry major, with a goal of ending up in biomedical research. I’m from Sauk Prairie, a small town just northwest of Madison, WI. I discovered Two to Tango when a group of friends and I decided to attend the demo lesson our freshman year, and I don’t think I missed a lesson after that. Needless to say, I’m forever hooked on ballroom dancing. My favorite dance is usually the one being advertised for the week, although I’m partial to Swing (both East and West Coasts), Viennese Waltz, and Bachata. I’m incredibly excited to be your student instructor for the second year. I love to learn new moves, especially personal inventions and improvisations, so don’t be afraid to ask me to dance!
Hello, my name is Josh and I am the President and a Student Instructor for Two to Tango (T3). I am a Senior and will be entering my 5th year with T3. I am a Biology Major with a Music minor. I hail from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin where I learned my first dance moves with Swing. East Coast Swing is my favorite dance because of its fast pace and countless moves. I also really enjoy Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, and Viennese Waltz. T3 has allowed me to meet a lot of new people that I would have never met in any other situation. It has given me a skill that I take beyond just T3 and apply it to other aspects of my life. T3 has really become my favorite parts of the week, thanks to all the friends I get to share it with. I hope to be a great leader for all of you, and most importantly dance as much as possible! Hope to see you all on the dance floor.
Hi everybody! My name is John Fisher and I’m one of Two to Tango’s student instructors (not to be confused with my twin brother/stunt double Robert Fisher). I’m originally from Maple Grove, Minnesota (a suburb north of the Twin Cities). Currently, I’m majoring in Computer Science as a junior here at Eau Claire. Before joining T3, ballroom dancing had never even crossed my mind, but after signing up during the Blugold Organization Bash (BOB) I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve been with T3 for 2 years now and whether it’s learning new dances each week or practicing old favorites, T3 has become a very important part of my college life outside the classroom. The best part of T3 has not been the dances I’ve learned (okay they’re the second best part), but rather the new friendships I’ve made along the way. As a student instructor, it is my hope that I can help make Two to Tango just as much fun as it has been for me. Until then, keep an eye out for me on the dance floor and just have fun.
Hello, dancers. I’m Robert Fisher and I am a Student Instructor and Co-Vice President for Two to Tango. My hometown is Maple Grove, Minnesota, which is a suburb of the Twin Cities. I am a junior and Computer Science major at UW-Eau Claire. Prior to joining T3, I had no ballroom dance experience, but I discovered that I enjoyed learning new dances with my friends each week. The best part about being an instructor is having the opportunity to help others learn and have fun dancing too. Some of my favorite dances are Swing, Salsa, and Viennese Waltz, but I am always interested in learning something different. In fact, I'm a improvisational ballroom dancing enthusiast (well, I suppose it’s partly trial and error, but it’s a whole lot of fun to invent a new move). What’s great about T3 is the opportunity to improve my knowledge and try new things along the way. I guess dance lessons can also be life lessons too! So, if you want to become a better you, then I will see you on the dance floor!
Hello! I am Hannah, Co-Public Relations and a student instructor for Two to Tango. I am a senior with a Psychology major and a Sociology minor. I got my start in T3 my freshman year with a bunch of girls living in the same dorm as me, it was the first time I had ever tried Ballroom Dancing although I always loved watching it in the movies! Tango, waltz and swing are my top three dances but I have fun with any dance. Over the summer I even did some folk dancing with my grandma! I have made many friends since I became a member of Two to Tango and I can't wait to make more!
Hi there! My name is Josh and I hail from Wausau, WI. I am a sophmore studying History at UW-Eau Claire. This is my first year at T3 and I have already learned so much. I've always wanted to learn how to ballroom dance and it feels nice to take that off my bucket list. I started going with a friend at the start of the semester. After going to each lesson I made many more friends and was able to become a student instructor. My favorite dance has to be east coast swing because of the spirit and energy it gives off. Being in T3 has given me much more insight on what dancing truly is and how much fun can be had by learning in an environment surrounded by such wonderful people.
Hi! I'm Jake, treasurer and a student instructor for, you guessed it, Two to Tango! This is my Senior and final year here at Eau Claire studying Physics, along with a good portion of the rest of the leadership; it wasn't planned we promise. I have been dancing for about 1.5 years and my first contact with dance (besides square dancing in high school) was when I joined T3 on the V-Waltz night in the Spring of 2012. Some of my favorite dances include East and West Coast Swing, Rumba, Quickstep, V-Waltz, and Salsa Rueda, but I don't hate any of them really. Come join us for a night of good, clean fun!
Hi, I'm Becca! I'm a senior here at UWEC, double majoring in History and English Literature with a German minor. I'm from West Bend, Wisconsin, which is just north of the Milwaukee area. My life is consumed by a passion for beautiful things like art, music, travel, and culture, and I have always thought that the idea of ballroom dancing was really interesting, but never knew how to get into it. After returning from my study abroad experience, I decided that I had had enough of not knowing and joined T3. Now dancing can be added to that list of passions. I'm so glad that I was given the opportunity to be an instructor and Vice-President because it means I get to share my love of dance with others, and actively help in the expansion of our club.
Hi! I'm Sarah Naegeli, and I'm one of the newest instructors at Two to Tango. I am a sophomore in the Physics and Engineering Dual-Degree Program with a Math minor (I know, so many physics majors!). I always enjoyed danging, but never actually did much before coming to college. I went to Swing Fling my freshman year and totally fell in love with T3. East Coast is still my favorite dance, but I like them all. This is my second year in Two to Tango and first year as an instructor. I am so excited to help teach others and make new friends! Please don't be afraid to ask me to dance; I can tell you right now, I would love to dance with you!
Hello Fellow Dance Enthusiasts! This is Kate Myers, one of the Student Instructors of Two to Tango. I am a Senior (my goodness, I feel old) Majoring in Language and Culture Studies, with a minor in TEFL. If you’d like to know more, feel free to come have a chat with me! Before joining up with Two to Tango I tried out the Latin Dance Club at my high school. I learned the basics of salsa there, but as a lead (when you are a tall girl in a dance class devoid of boys you are expected to take one for the team. I was a pretty snazzy guy if I do say so myself.) Now that I have found T3 my knowledge of dance has grown by leaps and bounds and I enjoy all types of dance. My favorites so far have been foxtrot and salsa, although I also enjoy polka, swing, and really anything. I just plain love to dance. You will too, if you come to Two to Tango :)
Hello! I am Shalaine Buehl and I am so excited to be the secretary and student instructor of Two to Tango. I am currently a sophomore at Eau Claire studying Mathematics-Physics Education. I hope to one day teach math or physics at the high school level. My hometown is Oak Creek, WI, which is just south of Milwaukee. I got involved with Two to Tango my freshman year after attending the Swing Fling. My friends in the Physics seminar room convinced me that if I enjoyed Swing Fling, I should attend the weekly Two to Tango lessons. I had no previous ballroom dance experience, but just really enjoyed dancing and thought ballroom dancing would be a lot of fun to try, and I have been hooked ever since! I am so thankful that I listened and joined Two to Tango! I have learned a variety of fun dances and made many wonderful friends doing so and know that many more are on the way! Can’t wait to see you on the dance floor!
Hi There! My name is Anna Aman and I am from Prior Lake, Minnesota. I am a softmore, Biology major and Spanish Minor, but I also love drawing, swimming, and Scuba diving! This is my first year of being a Student Instructor, but second year in Two to Tango. I had never done any form of dancing before college but I was in Synchronized Swimming for 6 years, so I figured hey, I can do this, just need to get used to land! Last year I came to Two to Tango often and competed once in Minneapolis with the Blugold Competitive Ballroom toward the end of the year in Foxtrot, Waltz, and Tango. I really fell in love with dance after going to the Viennese ball last year, it was a blast and Viennese waltz became my favorite dance. I have always felt welcomed with this club and am super excited to be a part of its staff! Hope to see you soon!
