About us:
The Two to Tango Social Dance Club was founded in 1993 by students in Katharine Thomas Residence Hall at UW-Eau Claire. The purpose of the club is to provide University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire students, staff, and alumni with opportunities to learn, practice, and teach various social dances including (but not limited to) Swing, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rhumba, Mambo, Polka, Fox Trot, and Waltz.
Two to Tango meets every Sunday night from 6:30 to 8:30 in the McPhee dance studio (click for directions). Meetings are open to all UWEC students and faculty and their guests. No experience is necessary! When you arrive, please sign in at the table located by the door. Please take off any “street” shoes before walking on the dance floor to help keep it in good condition. Feel free to dance in socks if you do not have other appropriate shoes.
Each meeting starts with a few announcements and then we get right to dancing. See the calendar for a schedule of which dances will be taught at each meeting. Two to Tango's meetings are about having fun, meeting new people, and dancing with friends. Please introduce yourself to each person you dance with. Student Instructors will be available at every meeting, so if you need help with a step just ask a Student Instructor for help.
No dues are needed on the first or second visit to Two to Tango. Please pay dues on the third visit. Dues are $10.00 per semester or $15.00 per year and entitle members to attend weekly instruction, local dances, and special events. These events are free or reduced for paid members. Instruction is provided for members by professional instructors from the Eau Claire area or highly trained student instructors.
